RInfra launches new power bill payment system through mobile

RInfra has 27 lakh consumers who can have all power-related information pertaining to their power accounts through mobile

Anil Ambani-led Reliance Infrastructure (RInfra) on Tuesday said it has introduced a system, whereby its consumers can access all their bill records and make payments through mobile phones.

With this, RInfra's 27 lakh consumers can have all the power-related information pertaining to their power accounts - like power consumption history, payment history, meter reading details, status of their registered complaints, nearest payment facility, the company said in a statement issued here.

To avail the facility on their mobiles by registering on the company's website, the release said.

"We are the first power utility company in India to launch such consumer empowerment initiatives for our Mumbai consumers and will keeping launching similar initiatives in near future. This facility will give consumers freedom to view and pay electricity bills from anywhere in the world," RInfra Chief Executive and Director Lalit Jalan said.

The new mobile bill payment system is further integrated with SMS alert facilities, where RInfra consumers will get alerts on meter reading dates, electricity bill, payment confirmation for select payments mode, like ECS, cheque payment, online payment and voluntary deposit scheme balance information, the release said.
