Village Knowledge Centre in Kozhikode

Centres to be set up as part of nationwide programme

Haritham Farmers Club, Mayanad in Kozhikode district, sponsored by south Malabar Gramin Bank, Medical College Branch, under the auspicious of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) , would set up a Village Knowledge Centre at Mundikkalthazham, in the district.

S N A Jinnah, General Manager, NABARD, Regional Office, Thiruvananthapuram, will inaugurate the Centre on August 14, a release said here.

Village Knowledge Centres are being set up at various parts of the country with the intention to equip the ordinary farming community regarding the modern techniques of farming, to make them aware of the latest market trends and price movements, it said.

Another objective was to help them procure quality sedlings/and other farm inputs through the modern IT facilities.

The Centre will be provided with computers with internet connection and the farmers will be trained on usage of computer/internet at the Centre, the release said.
