26 per cent cast votes till 1200 hours in Bihar polls

Sixth and final phase of assembly elections today

An estimated 26 per cent of the 60.07 lakh voters exercised their franchise till 1200 hours in 26 constituencies in the sixth and final phase of the assembly elections in Bihar today, official sources said.

Around 25 people have so far been detained under preventive measures from different places in Gaya, Aurangabad and Rohtas districts to ensure a free and peaceful poll, Director General of Police Neelmani said.

Voters boycotted polling at nine booths in Kutumba, Navinagar, Rafiganj and Aurangabad constituencies in Aurangabad district to protest alleged apathy of the administration towards development of their area, official sources said.
