The second phase of panchayat elections in 36 blocks of 12 districts of Haryana will be held tomorrow.

The districts include Ambala, Bhiwani, Fatehabad, Jind, Jhajjar, Kaithal, Kurukshetra, Mahendergarh at Narnaul, Sirsa, Sonepat, Mewat at Nuh and Palwal.

All preparations have been made for free, fair and peaceful poll, state Electoral Officer Dharam Vir said today adding all Deputy Commissioners and police authorities had been advised to deploy additional force in sensitive areas.

He said there are 5,976 polling stations in which 30,18,531 voters will exercise their franchise to elect 1,888 sarpanches, 18,262 panches, 854 panchayat samiti members and 234 zila parishad members.

He said there are 675 hyper sensitive and 741 sensitive villages having 1,885 and 1,260 polling stations respectively.

Extra police force would be deployed on these stations to maintain law and order and ensure that polling takes place peacefully.

He said EVMs would be used for election of sarpanches in all the districts.
