Andhra Pradesh government was considering to provide HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment services at Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in the state, a top official has said.

Provision of HIV/AIDS services at PHC-level would help the public in getting to know about preventive and treatment aspects of the dreaded disease, R V Chandravadan, project director, AIDS Control Society of Andhra Pradesh, said at a function here last evening.

The government has given in-principle approval to the proposal and micro plans were being prepared for its implementation in tribal areas, he said.

Training would be given to the medical staff and local health workers on HIV, Chandravadan said.
