Though Supreme Court's decision to postpone the Allahabad High Court verdict on Ayodhya title dispute brought a sigh of relief, political leaders have divergent views on the issue.

Former Madhya Pradesh chief minister, Sunderlal Patwa, whose government was dismissed in the wake of communal riots following the demolition of disputed structure in 1992 told PTI, "Though I don't want to comment on Supreme Court's decision, it would have been better if the High Court was allowed to deliver its verdict on the issue."

Too much hype was created in the country before the verdict on the issue, he said adding that there was no need for it.

When asked whether he feared repeat of 1992 situation in the state when his elected government was dismissed by the Centre after the communal riots, he said that the decision taken by the then union government was totally wrong and the same was also proved in the Madhya Pradesh High Court which had termed the decision of dismissal as "unconstitutional".

However, former BJP ideologue K N Govindacharya said he was of the view that the Ayodhya dispute is "judicially indeterminable" as the birthplace of Lord Ram is totally a matter of faith. "I was neither apprehensive, nor very enthusiastic about the court verdict as the issue of deciding birthplace of Lord Ram is a matter of faith and cannot be solved through a court order," Govindacharya said.

"It is judicially indeterminable," Govindacharya said when asked on the issue of Supreme Court postponing the High Court verdict on the Ram Janamabhoomi title dispute. "For Hindus, the exact spot where Lord Ram was born is a matter of faith and the issue cannot be settled by a court order," he said.

Legislature route or amicable solution through dialogue is a better way to solve this problem with an open heart, he opined.

Govindacharya said that the court must have given a reason that when the issue was going on for the last sixty-years, there is no harm in giving it six more days time for arriving at any solution to avoid any unnecessary criticism.

"There was no need for creating so much hype before the verdict," he said adding that "it was unwarranted."

Meanwhile, welcoming the Supreme Court's decision to postpone the verdict, Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President, Suresh Pachouri said that "if the dispute is amicably solved in an harmonious atmosphere, then it is the best solution for the vexed problem." "Otherwise, everyone must honour the court verdict on the issue," he added.
