Seat sharing with the BJP for the assembly elections in Bihar has been finalised with the saffron party to contest 102 of the 243 seats and the JD(U) 141, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said today while dismissing reports of differences between the two allies.

"We are very old allies ... all old arrangements on campaigning, seat-sharing or any other issue will continue," the chief minister said.

On reported differences between the JD(U) and BJP over the seat-sharing, Kumar said "there is nothing like that."

Stating that senior BJP leader L K Advani will campaign in the state, Kumar said he had held a meeting with his deputy S K Modi and Health Minister N K Yadav, both from the BJP, on leaders of the two parties campaigning in most constituencies.

The Digha assembly seat was now with the JD(U).

Kumar, who would start his 'Janadesh Yatra' to seek a fresh mandate for another term, said "I have plans to cover most of the constituencies during the first five phases of elections."

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said other NDA candidates were capable enough to ensure the defeat of the RJD from Raghopur and Sonepur constituences.

RJD president Lalu Prasad has challenged Nitish Kumar and his deputy S K Modi to contest from Raghopur and Sonepur from where leader of the opposition and his wife Rabri Devi is contesting.

Showering praise on JD(U) candidate from Raghopur Satish Kumar, the Chief Minister told reporters that he is the son of soil born in a Yadava family to defeat her.

He was apparently referring to Lalu's statement that there was no son of soil born who could defeat his wife and ex-chief minister Rabri Devi.

Kumar said he was embarking on Janadesh Yatra from tomorrow seeking another term to complete unfinished task.

During the Janadesh Yatra he would go to some constituencies in Madhubani tomorrow and stay in Madhepura for five to six days to campaign in Kosi and Seemanchal belts.

He criticised Prasad putting up Jaiprakash Narain Yadav to contest against Putul Singh, widow of independent MP Digvijay Singh, for Banka Lok Sabha by-poll after announcing that RJD would not field candidate against her. "It proved that Prasad is not dependable in politics."

NDA has decided not to contest from Banka LS seat.

On the RJD boss' 'dengu remark' against the Congress, Kumar said, "Both the Congresss and RJD have entered into an agreement that they will attack each other publicly to mislead the people but they will keep their secret pact (of joining hands after the polls)."

On some of his party MPs fielding their relatives from Congress and RJD, Kumar said, "It is a wrong trend that has developed in politics. They (the relatives) should realise that they have to create their identity on their own."

Referring to protests ruling JD(U) was facing over distribution of tickets, Kumar said "It's because of spread of TV channels. People should know that we can select only one for a constituency and not all."
