The country's largest opposition party, BJP, will launch a nationwide campaign to highlight the governmnet's failure on corruption, inflation and black money fronts on April 6, its foundation day.

The campaign will go on till June 15, the party announced on Wednesday after a day-long meeting of the national office-bearers with the state presidents and general secretaries.

BJP president Nitin Gadkari told the media here that the stir will cover all 600 districts of the country and party leaders will try and cover most villages to create an awareness on the issues involved.

There shall also be a marathon organised in every important city to get the people involved in the movement, Gadkari said in an appeal to citizens to join the movement. The party will also organise street plays, meetings and use SMS and emails to involve people in the movement, he added.

Training his guns on the prime minister, the BJP chief said that the campaign will expose the former's complicity in every ignominy involving the centre, be it P J Thomas's appointment as central vigilance commissioner, the Commonwealth Games or the 2G scam.

Asked why the BJP is shying away from demanding the PM's resignation, the BJP president quipped that in democracy any sensitive person would have resigned on his own, but now the party will take the PM and his government to the people's court through the mass movement.
