Blueline ban awaits LG's nod

Notification on the city-wide ban on the private buses expected by Tuesday or Wednesday

The transport department authorities are awaiting the notification from Delhi lieutenant governor Tejendra Khanna regarding the phasing out of Blueline buses from the national capital. Presently, these private buses have been kept away from Lutyens' Delhi. After the notification they will be barred from other areas too, said Amit Kumar Rai, public relations officer, Delhi transport department.

The notification from LG office is expected by late Tuesday evening or Wednesday.

The Delhi transport department is busy chalking out plan for utilising the existing fleet to the fullest. The DTC officer said 5500 buses will run in the morning and the same number will operate in the evening to fill the gap. Further, the Blueline operators held protest infront of the transport ministry on Tuesday.
