BMC invites suggestions to its Draft Cleanliness and Sanitation Byelaws

Gives two-month window to stakeholders

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has invited suggestions and objections to its Draft Cleanliness and Sanitation Byelaws for 2025.

The Draft Cleanliness and Sanitation Byelaws for 2025 will be put up on BMC website https://portal.mcgm.gov.in on April 1 for a two-month period for public inspection.

BMC has asked policymakers, stakeholders and citizens to submit their suggestions and objections within this two-month period, that is, by May 31.

The civic body has revised the existing Cleanliness and Sanitation Byelaws, 2006  to incorporate required updates based on regulatory and administrative changes. BMC said that new draft byelaws have been formulated under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner and Administrator  Bhushan Gagrani and Additional Municipal Commissioner (City) Ashwini Joshi with the Solid Waste Management Department.

Citizens can submit their suggestions / objections / feedback on <[email protected]> by May 31 or submit a hard copy with written suggestions and objections on working days (excluding government and public holidays) between 10:30 AM and 5:00 PM at the Office of the Chief Engineer (Solid Waste Management), 3rd Floor, Municipal Khatav Market Building,Opposite Avishkar Building, Khatavwadi, Sleater Road,Grant Road (West), Mumbai 400007.

Deputy Municipal Commissioner (Solid Waste Management) Kiran Dighavkar has urged all concerned stakeholders and citizens to actively participate in this process and submit their inputs before the end of deadline.
