Centre planning gas project at Pathankote

Project planned to generate 1,000 Mega-Volt Amperes of electricity

The union government is planning to construct 1,000 Mega Volt-Amperes (MVA) gas project at Pathankote to give relief to the people of Jammu and Kashmir from power crises during winters.

"Central government is planning to construct 1000 MVA gas project at Pathankote for providing adequate electricity to the people of the State," union minister for power Sushil Kumar Shinde said at a J&K Congress rally organised on the on his 63rd death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

Shinde said the work on Kishan Ganga Hydel Power Project is under execution and work on other mini and micro hydel power projects will be taken into hand.
