The state transport authority is planning to link all the motor licensing offices in the city.

All the 13 offices will be connected with a broadband line. Presently, in order to procure driving license one has to go to regional transport office in his or her region. Under the new system, one can get the license from any of the 13 offices after completion of formalities, said special commissioner, transport department, A K Singh.

The linking would ease the pressure on busy RTOs and applicants as well, offering alternative locations to apply for the licence.

One can go with prior appointment. Plus, there will be a call centre and payment can be made by credit card. Softwares are being installed and the system will be in place in January, he added.
