DGPs to gather for two-day conference

Will discuss internal security, IB officials to share perspectives

The central government has convened a two-day conference of the directors general of police on August 24-25 to discuss internal security against the backdrop of Hindutva Terrorism.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will inaugurate the meet and Home Minister P Chidambaram will spend two days in the Conference listening to the deliberations and presentations.

The joint directors of the Intelligence Bureau posted at 28 centres across India are also being asked to present their perspective under their control.

The meet will also discuss counterfeiting of Indian currency, money laundering, terrorists getting funds from abroad, immigration and Commonwealth Games preparations.
