The Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday ridiculed prime minister Manmohan Singh, saying that the "facade" of his clean image was falling apart as his government was getting embroiled in damning indictments day after day for corruption and open loot of public money.

No wonder the government has now resorted to the "massive cover-up game" as seen from the Commonwealth Games accused getting out of the jail because the CBI did not file any charge-sheet, nor any charge-sheet in the 2G scam even after 15 months of the CBI probe and the Bombay High Court had to ask why not even a FIR was registered in the Adarsh Society scam, BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar affirmed.

He told reporters here that all investigations launched by the government in the wake of the public outcry are turning out to be a sham with the clear indication on its part to cover up the colossal loot of public money.

The prime minister was getting the supreme court stick because of these cover-ups as it first asked why he was silent so long on the loot in the 2G scam, and then wanted to know how come he did not know PJ Thomas was an accused in the Palmolein import scam while making him the central vigilance commissioner and why it treats the Indians stashing ill-gotten money in foreign banks as a case of tax evasion and not as a crime, Javadekar added.
