Haryana records 2nd highest wheat arrival this season

Wheat crop is still arriving in grain markets, though in small quantity

Haryana has recorded the second highest wheat arrival of over 68.06 lakh metric tonnes in the ongoing wheat procurement season, while wheat crop is still arriving in grain markets, though in small quantity.

The highest wheat arrival of 69.24 lakh metric tonnes was recorded in the year 2009-10.

Stating this here today, a spokesman of food and supplies department said out of the total arrival of wheat, over 68.02 lakh metric tonnes of wheat had been purchased by the government procuring agencies and the remaining 4,084 metric tonnes by the traders.

Giving details of the wheat procured by the government agencies, he said over 23.82 lakh metric tonnes of wheat had been purchased by HAFED, over 18.01 lakh metric tonnes by food and supplies department, 8.23 lakh metric tonnes by food corporation of India, 6.82 lakh metric tonnes by Haryana agro industries corporation, 6.09 lakh metric tonnes by Haryana warehousing corporation and over 5.03 lakh metric tonnes by CONFED.

District Sirsa was leading in wheat arrival where over 10.17 lakh metric tonnes of wheat had arrived in the mandis so far, followed by district Fatehabad where over seven lakh metric tonnes of wheat had arrived in the mandis.
