Lauding Anna Hazare for his fight for a Jan Lokpal Bill, Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy today said the Gadhian activitist should however have politicians on his side, saying that he was surrounded by 'NGOs who are bogus.'

'Unfortunately Hazare is surrounded by NGOs who are bogus.

He needs politicians to handle politicians,' Swamy told reporters here.

Praising Hazare, who went on fast-unto-death pressing for a Lokpal Bill with more teeth, Swamy, however, rued that "the basic error of Hazare was to keep the politicians out."

"His team should have some politicians," Swamy said.

Reacting to the controversy surrounding the CD allegedly containing former Law Minister Shanthi Bhushan's conversations with SP leader Mulayam Singh Yadav, Swamy said "why didnt those who were aware of the CD approach the police."

On the post-poll situation in Tamil Nadu, he said that a slender lead would put AIADMK ahead.

On the demand for Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddurappa's resignation over illegal mining issue, Swamy said there was no need for that as he had tried to remove Reddy brothers (alleged to have been behind illegal mining) and that their 'political godfathers are in Delhi and in Congress.'

"BJP should not allow such a campaign against Yeddyurappa," he said.
