Iris Computers posts 34% sales growth for 2012-13

Company eying Rs 2,000 crore next fiscal

GN Bureau | July 16, 2013

Amidst concerns of a slowing economy and declining demand, India’s top IT distributor Iris Computers has posted a 34 percent growth in its turnover to Rs 1,200 crore last year and the company has forecasted turnover to cross Rs 2000 crore in 2013-14.

The company chairman Sanjiv Krishen exuded confidence in achieving the forecasted results and added that the company would further expand its geographical reach in the country. “We are looking at a target turnover of Rs. 2,000 crore for the period 2013-14. It is a conservative estimate and we will definitely cross it. We plan to open five new offices including offices in Sri Nagar, Madurai, Trivandrum and Ranchi,” he said.

Krishen, who was also conferred the prestigious lifetime achievement award, attributed his company’s success to its growing clientele which includes Acer, IBM, HP, Dell, Lenovo, Samsung and Acer. He pointed that despite cut-throat competition amongst each other, all of them preferred his company because of its “responsive and quick decision making, quick credit evaluation and order noting, and timely deliveries”.

The New Delhi based company, which has been in the business for the last seventeen years, recently bagged major deals including distributing systems to the Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai airports and is in talks to cover another 23 airports across the country. In addition, the company has also cracked deals worth Rs 100 crore to assist the police modernization programmes of Delhi, Bihar and Nagaland.
