Karunanidhi rejects Alagiri’s resignation

Sack Raja and Kanimozhi, Alagiri demanded

GN Bureau | January 5, 2011

DMK president and Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi has rejected MK Alagiri’s resignation from the post of organising secretary of the party.

In his resignation letter Alagiri sought action against A Raja and Kanimozhi for their alleged involvement in the 2G spectrum scam and also on the basis of their conversations with Niira Radia. Alagiri also demanded that Chennai Sangamam, an event organised by Kanmozhi, should be put off and that Karunanidhi should avoid his presence at the NGO function.

On receipt of Alagiri resignation letter Karunanidhi discussed the matter with senior party functionaries and rejected the resignation.

DMK has convened its general council on February 3 to deliberate on the seat-sharing and alliance issues ahead of the assembly polls.
