Lalu, Amar, Manish will examine Lokpal Bill

Will or can they do an honest job of it?

GN Bureau | August 23, 2011

Here we reproduce the list of members of the parliamentary standing committee on personnel, public grievances and law and justice which is looking into the Lokpal Bill. It is headed by Congressman Abhishek Manu Singhvi.

Judge for yourself if they inspire your confidence that they will do an honest job.

For starter, Lalu Prasad is very much an accused in the fodder scam. Amar Singh may be arrested in connection with cash-for-vote scam any day. And Manish Tewari is Congress spokesman who said Anna is corrupt "from head to toe".

AI: Code, Control, Conquer

India today stands at a critical juncture in the area of artificial intelligence. While the country is among the fastest adopters of AI in the world, it remains heavily reliant on technologies developed elsewhere. This paradox, experts warn, cannot persist if India seeks technological sovereignty.

RBI pauses to assess inflation risks, policy transmission

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has begun the new fiscal year with a calibrated pause, keeping the repo rate unchanged at 5.25 per cent in its April Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting.
