MP demands increased frequency of Ngp-Mum Duranto Exp

Inadequate reserved seats making it inconvenient for people to travel from Nagpur

Former union minister and Congress MP Vilas Muttemwar has demanded introduction of a new Nagpur-New Delhi Duranto Express and also increase in the frequency of Nagpur-Mumbai Duranto, which runs on a tri-weekly basis.

Muttemwar, in a letter to union railway minister Mamata Banerjee, a copy of which was released to the press, ahead of the rail budget, has stated that people are finding it extremely difficult to travel from Nagpur to the national capital, due to inadequate availability of reserved seats.

"There is an urgent need for a Nagpur-New Delhi Duranto. Similary, in view of the rush for Nagpur-Mumbai Duranto Express, a tri-weekly train, its frequency be increased and it be run a daily basis," he said.

Muttemwar has also demanded increase in frequency of operational days of Nagpur-Pune Duranto and Nagpur-Ahmedabad Prerna Express. He has also demanded introduction of a Nagpur-Hyderabad-Bangalore train in view of tremendous growth of trade and business in both the state capitals.
