Notification for first-phase of poll in Bihar issued

Notification issued for 46 of the 243 assembly constituencies

Notification was today issued for holding elections to 47 of the 243 assembly constituencies in Bihar going to the first of the six phase elections from October 21.

"The notification has been issued by the Election Commission for holding the first-phase on October 21," Additional Chief Electoral Officer Anshumali told PTI.

The notification was issued by the order of Governor Devanand Konwar, he said.

October 4 would be the last date for filing nominations and scrutiny would be held on October 5. The last date of withdrawal was October 7, Anshumali said.

Polling would be held would be held for Simri Bakhtiarpur and Mahishi between 7:00 am and 3:00 pm and for others between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm.
