Parl's monsoon session delayed

To commence on August 1

The monsoon session of Parliament has been delayed. It is now scheduled to start on August 1.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of cabinet committee on parliamentary affairs (CCPA) headed by finance minister Pranab Mukherjee.

After the meeting, parliamentary affairs ministers Pawan Kumar Bansal said that the committee decided to recommend to the president to convene the session from August 1.

The women's reservation bill and the Lokpal bill are crucial proposed legislations up for the consideration of the houses during the session which will be on till September 8.
