Pension for unmarried tribal mothers launched

Kerala launches 'Sneha Sparsham' pension scheme for unwed tribal mothers

A pension scheme for unmarried tribal mothers was launched today in Kerala.

Launching the pension scheme titled 'Sneha Sparsham', health minister P K Sreemathi had assured to provide help for the welfare of the marginalised women.

The project envisaged a monthly pension of Rs 300 and 226 unmarried tribal mothers would benefit from the scheme in the first phase, she said.

The minister said the government was planning to implement welfare measures for widows belonging to poor sections of the society. The ID cards for the physically challenged people in the state would issued by the end of March next year.
