As part of the public relation exercise kicked off with the prime minister's informal meeting with over a dozen senior editors on September 6, it is now the turn of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) to invite more than 150 journalists for an informal get-together over dinner on Saturday.

The PM's 71-year-old principal secretary T K A Nair has himself written a personal letter to each of the selected journalists to attend the gathering. The invite is to the second-rung senior journalists of national and state-level daily newspapers based in Delhi.

The hand-written invite that went out on September 10, four days after the PM met the editors, on the official letterhead with the embossed golden emblem of three lions reads as follows:

"My colleagues at the Office of the Prime Minister of India and I request you to join us for an informal get-together over dinner at 8 pm on Saturday, the 18th of this month, at Silver Oak at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

"Looking forward to the pleasure of receiving you at the Silver Oak on 18th evening and with best wishes."
