The ruling National Conference (NC) on Sunday asked separatists groups in the Valley to respond positively to the offer of talks by the Indian Government.

"NC appeals to the separatists and other groups to respond positively to the offer of talks by the Government of India so that there could be lasting solution for complex problem of Kashmir", MLC and spokesperson Ajay Sadhotra told reporters here today.

They should say good bye to the death and destruction and restore peace in Kashmir valley, he said.

He appealed to the people of Valley to maintain peace and asked them to be vigilant and support the government in fighting "proxy war" waged from across the border.

Besides economic and employment package, Sadhotra emphasied the need of giving political package acceptable to all the three regions of the state to instill confidence in common masses and to restore peace in Valley.
