Shown the door by AIADMK, politician claims mass exodus of party workers

S Muthuswamy says 20,000 AIADMK workers from Erode will join DMK like him

PTI | June 11, 2010

Expelled AIADMK leader S Muthusamy, who last week joined DMK, has said around 20,000 workers of his erstwhile party from the district would join the ruling party at a function in Chennai tomorrow.

Talking to reporters here yesterday, Muthusamy, a former state minister, said some former AIADMK MLAs from the western districts would also join the DMK in the presence of Chief Minister M Karunanidhi at the party headquarters.

They would leave their respective places tonight for Chennai, he said.

Muthusamy, who spurned an invitation by AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa to meet her to discuss the issues raised by him before quitting the party, said he was hopeful that more prominent AIADMK leaders would join the DMK as they were 'not given their due respect.'

Meanwhile AIADMK has arranged a workers meeting for this evening when the party?s Headquarters Secretary K A Sengottiyan will address them.
