In Himachal too, trends show BJP getting the magic numbers to form the government

#BJP   #Congress   #Gujarat   #Himachal Pradesh   #Gujarat Results   #Narendra Modi

There was a time during the vote count when the BJP election managers may well have chewed through their nails as the Congress put up a spirited fight in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. But, soon the tide turned in their favour, with the initial trends showing the electorate pushing the BJP past the halfway mark in both the states.

According to the election commission website, in Gujarat, the trends show the BJP was leading in 96 seats where they need to get 92 seats in the 183 seat assembly. The Congress was ahead in 64 seats, while the Nationalist Congress Party was set to bag one seat.

In Himachal Pradesh, the BJP was leading in 35 seats in the 68 member assembly, crossing the halfway mark. The Congress was getting 22 seats, falling short in its attempt to retain the state. Independents were getting two seats, showed the ECI website.

These are just trends and not the final results, which could turn out to be different.
