Underpasses and FoBs have failed their purpose: Delhi Traffic Jt. Commissioner

Speaking at the urban mobility conference in Delhi he said the existing Commonwealth Games lanes cannot be used for BRTs

Joint commissioner of police (Traffic), Delhi, Satyendra Garg criticised the foot over bridges (FOBs) and underpasses in many parts of the city.

“Underpasses have totally failed and majority do not use the FOBs at many places in the city,” he said at the second day of the urban mobility conference here on Saturday.

He further said, the laws existing in our country are quite weak.

"As a city we are very indisciplined. During the Commonwealth Games the traffic rules were made more stringent and thus it became a bit easy to manage the traffic," he said.

Talking about the 15 corridors that have been identified in the city to regulate the traffic he said the movement of buses will be on the left lane on these corridors. However, the existing Commonwealth Games lanes could not be used for BRTs, he added
