Urban police district carved out of Guntur police district

New Urban Guntur Police district comprises of 1575 police personnel divided into four zones

The district police has been split and a new urban Guntur police district has been carved out following a notification to this effect by the Andhra Pradesh government, sources said today.

The new Urban Guntur Police district, which begins at the Krishna river in the north extends to the Vtticherukuru police station in the south and comprises of 1575 police personnel divided into four zones, they said.

S Ravi Chandra, is the superintendent of the new police district, they added.
