Ankit Fadia to give lessons in cyber security

PTI | May 6, 2010

Cyber security guru and certified ethical hacker Ankit Fadia would soon impart training to the youth of Punjab on various safety measures including having a alpha-numeric password and installing a firewall in their computers.

"I would be sharing my knowledge on cyber security with the school children and other youths in Punjab and for this I would be travelling to various places in the state," Fadia, also a cyber terrorism expert, said here on the sidelines of an event.

He said he would soon start touring Punjab, where he would also be conducting interactive sessions with young internet users, as many of them are these days hooked to social networking sites.

Fadia also has to his credit working with Mumbai Police and the intelligence agencies post Mumbai terror attacks in 2008.

"Everyone using the internet should follow some basic things that include having a alpha-numeric password, install a firewall and a good anti-virus program and keep updating it from time to time," Fadia, who has authored 14 books on hacking and internet security, said.

Asked about why he opted to become a ethical hacker, he said that at the age of 10 he was gifted a computer by his parents and three years later he had hacked the site of a company and also suggested ways how they could prevent it from happening in future.
