IT firm IKF Technologies today said it will hire 1,500 people during this fiscal to cater to new e-governance projects that it will undertake.

"There are a lot of projects that we are looking at undertaking this year and for that, we should hire another 1,500 people this fiscal," IKF Technologies Chief Executive Officer Mukesh Goyal told reporters here.

The Kolkata-based company has a headcount of about 4,000 people, he added.

"Two state governments have expressed interest for rolling out of e-learning and e-health solutions across the state, for which we will partner with Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd (TCIL)," he added.

IKF also declared its fourth quarter results.

The company, which offers IT and ITeS services, registered a 92.35 per cent increase in its net profit to Rs 10.06 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2010. It had a net profit of Rs 5.23 crore for the same quarter last year.

For the full year (2009-10), net profit increased to Rs 35.41 crore, up 23.51 per cent over the last financial year.

"An improving market coupled with forward looking initiatives undertaken by the company has helped us post a healthy profit this year. We are confident of sustaining the growth and establishing IKF as a leading player in the technology sector across the globe," he said.
