IT major Cisco Systems Inc today announced the launch of a website, www.myhumannetwork.com, a platform with a social cause where people can connect and collaborate with each other without any boundaries.

Cisco has partnered with 40 NGOs and individuals across the country and is now targeting over 250 NGOs and individuals over the next 6-9-months, a top company official said.

"We believe that our new initiative will give a fillip to the numerous organisations in India that are engaged in a positive social change. The myhumannetwork.com will signify the power of the human network," Cisco President (India &SAARC) and Country Manager Naresh Wadhwa told reporters here.

Currently, 40 NGOs and individuals across the country have registered for this project and Cisco is targeting over 250 NGOs and individuals for registration in the next 6-9- months, Wadhwa said.

This social platform will allow individuals and organisations across India, to associate with causes and initiatives close to their heart, interact with like-minded people and share ideas, thoughts, experiences and solutions, he said.

Presently, its partner NGOs include Action India, Vatavaran, Spic Macay, Sweccha-We for change, Jamghat and AIESEC, among others.

In addition, the platform would allow visitors to browse through specific categories, identify causes and choose initiatives under each cause. They can either associate with existing social initiatives from across the country or create new initiatives, he said.

Some of these categories include education, health care, environment and animal welfare, economic development and infrastructure and social welfare, Wadhwa said.

In addition, this online forum also enables visitors to showcase their efforts through multimedia channels including blogs, videos, and events. Besides, individuals can participate in discussions, exchange information and create their own network of individuals, he said.
