The guidelines for off-grid and rooftop solar power generation under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM) will be out around the middle of June.

“They should be out around 16 June, 2010,” an official from the ministry of new and renewable energy (MNRE) told Governance Now.

The projects for migration will also be announced on the same day, the official added. And the guidlines for tail-end solar power projects will also come out in the sun.

The government has a target of setting up 100 MW of roof top and small solar plants connected to grid in the first phase of the solar mission. The first phase of the mission spans the 11th Plan and the first year of the 12th Plan( 2009- 2013). During the period, the government also plans to set up 200 MW capacity equivalent of off-grid solar applications. The first phase targets to set up 1,000 MW of grid connected solar energy. An amount of Rs 4337 crore has been approved for the activities proposed under the first phase of the mission till March 2013.

The secretary of MNRE in a conference last month had said that the guidelines of the mission would be out by end of June.
