Who is Atishi Marlena?

Marlena was intrumental in improving the condition of Delhi's government schools

Atishi Marlena is among the nine AAP functionaries who were dismissed by the union home ministry asserting that their posts were created without the approval of the centre. Marlena, served as education advisor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led government in Delhi. While she was intrumental in improving the condition of Delhi's government schools, she was also spearheading the mohalla sabha initiative of the Delhi government and was involved in the drafting of the party's manifesto in during Delhi assembly election. She drew only Re 1 per month as her salary for the past two years.

Marlena studied History at St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University and later on went to Oxford University for her Masters on a Chevening scholarship. She later joined as a Rhodes scholar in Magdalen College, Oxford, in 2005.
